Sure, but that's just playing more Geopolitical Nintendo... fun, but bad use of US money and lives.
Gives too much power to black bag operators who tend to screw things up and aren't answerable to anybody.

Let the Saudis fall of their own weight.
All that's needed is for American Consumers to find an oil company with the testosterone to sell gas from a separate pump labelled "Non-Middle-East Gasoline".

This would cause a riot.

The oil company would make billions, with lines around the block, national and int'l publicity. Consumers would gladly pay more, but the effect of voluntarily not buying Saudi oil would put downward pressure on prices.

The royal dictators would lose tens of billions per month, and be rapidly overthrown by their own disgruntled.

This won't happen as long as the administration supports the Saudis.
The American People don't.
