I didn't think Oregon had any gold at all. I can't think of a single mine there unlike, Nevada, Colorado and California, which are on the famous thrust fault/break/burro trail that runs from Texas to the coast. Are you sure you are not thinking about iron pyrites or vanadium? They are both yellow and it's easy to get confused. Oregon is kinda off the beaten path. You don't hear about it in gold circles. Tree country but not mineral land. What would the gold occur in, sediments, volcanics, quartz, iron, or banks?

Doubtful in Canada.
