patron, Great story, especially the last bit: "I never do that...unless it works." <g> In Europe, they get really hostile at the blackjack table. The guy playing 3rd base is supposed to sacrifice himself to bust the dealer. Totally insane. Needless to say, they all wanted to pick fights with me, as I pretty much played the count strategy, which sometimes looked stupid to them. Then, if I got ahead, they are allowed to bet up to the limit on your hand. So, I'm an idiotic American jackass at 9 pm and by 10, half the folks who called me that are betting more than I am on my hand. The first time you hit a 16 and bust, though, they tend to drift away mumbling at you. <g>
