My understanding is the bankruptcy court has the power to void any offset agreements. They have the right to collect the amount due ENE, and not pay CPN.

I've sat on many creditors committees and I've never seen it any other way.

That may be CPN position, but I suspect it will be challenged as the bankruptcy progresses.
