No they shouldn't. Cause that article contains as much disinformation and misinterpreted conclusions as you suspect the pro forma earnings contain. Two wrongs don't make it right. What they should be doing is educating their audience on what pro forma earnings are, how they differ from Gaap earnings, how goodwill writeoffs affect both, and how to use the gaap earnings first combined secondly with the proforma to determine what is happening and where management is trying to direct operating expense levels to in the future.

Some people seem to want turmoil, as opposed to explanations and additional information.
