-Brandt sees almost no chance that common-stock investors at Enron, Kmart and Global Crossing will see a return of even a fraction of their original stakes.
-In Brandt's experience, only companies with intellectual property, "where it's a dead-bang winner but the financing was too aggressive and they have to de-leverage the balance sheet," emerge from reorganizations with something left for original stakeholders.
-On the subject of Enron, whose spiral is fast becoming America's corporate Monica Lewinsky, Brandt has a lot to say. "The possibility of any real reorganization coming out of Enron is hooey. The people who were in control of Enron are still in control."
