It's one of the most beautifully written essays I've read in a long time. Base on reading it in October, I made a bit of a study of Ms. Roy's career and other writings. She is fantastic, a real hero, and someone who is conversant with the truth.

In addition to her successes as a novelist and screenwriter for Bollywood, she remains a committed activist for democratic, anti-corporate causes in India. Not to be gushy, but I think she's wonderful. Someone who is successful in her own right, and unwilling to sell out to the craven corporate culture that is epitomized by the claven of cacklin' crackheads gathered at Davos on the Hudson. Let's hope our message of dissent from the view of the greedsters gathered there can be made public in the press in a favorable light. The greedsters shouldn't be allowed a free ride just because they're jerking the sympathy chain by gathering in the shadow of the World Trade Center. It's just a manipulative ploy on the part of the World Economic Council.
