Hi, jhg. I haven't followed CHKP much in the past two years. I was a big fan back in 1998-99, but sold too early in the big run up. I was always a little uncomfortable with the huge tax breaks CHKP got from being based in Israel. That distorts its margins and earnings and makes comparing CHKP's financials to a competitor's difficult. Nonetheless, it has an excellent business and strong market position. But it is much easier for a new competitor to create a firewall or VPN product that competes well with CHKP than to recreate a virus database of tens of thousands of viruses. Only a few of those exist in the world. Also, CHKP's focus on the corporate market probably caps its growth a little bit down the road. SYMC's focus on the consumer market, once a black mark, is becoming an attractive point. This will become more attractive IMHO as consumers need more web security products.
