There's blame to go around. The disgusting habits of Clinton skirt-chasing was exceeded by an opposition party blasting these habits on the front pages for my kids to read. I can't forgive either party for that, but least of all the uncivilized Republican filth-mongers.
This isn't a matter of wanting better morality, by the cynical opposition, since it had no political significance unless they forced it to. It was simply wanting the Presidency next term, regardless of the fallout of dumping loads of sexual crap in the public press. Or, rather, because they knew the more crap they dumped, the more embarassed and disgusted the populace would be, and eventually vote them in just to shut them up.
Those particular Republicans, such as Gingrich, have the same disgusting habits as Democrats, there isn't a dime's worth of difference between them. Except Gingrich's treatment of his ex-wife was worse. Who knows what else goes on. Who cares. "It's the government and the economy, stupid."
I'm enjoying the current lack of discussion of personal habits in the bedroom. It's too bad the Republics have to threaten the populace with such disgusting details or death by terrorism to stay elected, as the Rep Nat'l Committee chairman recently said he plans to do.
Now, if we could get even a little disclosure on what is happening the backrooms of government and boardrooms of public companies, along with economic growth, that would be something even a Libertarian could agree with. |
