Screw 'em. It ain't about popularity.
It isn't personal, either, many of these are fine folks I have over to the house on occasion.

It's the natural course of bureacracies. Jefferson said something about when a constituency finds it can vote itself money from the treasury, the screwing of the taxpayer will commence. He may have used different words, tho' <g>

The schools, like certain other government groups, have an unquestioned constituency of millions, attractive to politicos. Its time to question.
