These guys better get over this new economy dream that they live in. Even Greenspan has bought into this. Imagine the increases in productivity that where realized by the invention of the pocket calculator and the word processor. By their standards we should all be rich and corporate profits should have been infinite by the early 80's. If we lose our manufacuring base we will be seriously weakened as a world power. We need to maintain a certain amount of exporting power. Also as many foreign students that go to school here we will not have a monopoly on high tech for long. Seems we are burning the candle at both ends. Someone made the comparison to post Columbian Spain, seems quite apt.
