Delta Lowers Stake in Priceline.com

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL - news) has reduced its stake in Internet travel retailer Priceline.com (Nasdaq:PCLN - news) to 5.68 percent from 6.98 percent, a filing on Thursday U.S. regulators showed.

The U.S. airline sold 2,983,274 common shares between Aug. 8 and Jan. 30 at prices ranging from $6.07 per share to $8.77 per share, it said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (news - web sites).

The company made about $19.5 million from the open market sales, according to the filing. Delta did not say why it sold shares over the last five months.

Delta currently holds more than 13.5 million shares, including 454,308 shares Priceline will pay to Delta as a dividend from shares of series B preferred stock Delta holds.

It added that it acquired 4 million shares on Tuesday after partially exercising a 2001 warrant and surrendering some series B preferred stock.

According to an August 2001 filing, Delta held more than 16 million Priceline shares for 6.98 percent.

Priceline shares closed 29 cents higher, or almost 5 percent, at $6.30 on Nasdaq.

Good, I'm glad they're done with their damn selling. Now that those latest shares that were posted on Yahoo's Insider listings have finally been liquidated, WE CAN MOVE UP AND BREAK OUT OF THIS PRICE RANGE NOW!!
