That's a more honest explanation of what is happening than rationalizing the war into a good versus evil situation.

As a country, we can do what we want as long as we are ready to pay the price for our actions. When we are no longer willing to pay that price then public opinion will change and our leaders will have to make a choice......that is; pay the price of the wrath of the public or change the policy. That price will be determined later on by a possible escalation in terrorist activity. I hope that doesn't happen but I fear we may experience something like that which has escalated in Israel.

All the money in the world can't build a shield strong enough to keep out suicidal zealots that are willing to buy time and attack from within our domestic core. We are dealing with an enemy that doesn't need billions of dollars to inflict terror...they just need a few sociopathic religious zealots. The American killing of Moslems helps build Bin Ladin's choir of sociopaths whether they be military or civilians.

Unfortunately, there is no simple and perfect solution to the problem this country faces. It's hard to face an enemy that doesn't fear death. Their value system is different than ours, so treating the problem in the Texas way of "shoot first and ask questions when you run out of ammo", isn't going to fly in this situation.
