Solomon Star's Pearls part 3

A woman is at once that most selfish and selfless of creatures.

To be undivided, a woman must become a man; a man must become a woman.

A woman dressed in satins and sheers, laden in sweet perfume, with the voice touch of at once an angel and a devil; she can easily raise a large army of men.

Women have the power and are egoless. Men have no power yet mighty egos.

Everyone is afraid at some time or another.

Everyone hurts; all known creation is suffering.

There are spirits in the machines.

In the cult and culture of the automobile, highways are the holiest land; petroleum the sacrament.

The king and his court are expendable. The king is a human invention; a replacement for 'God.' The wise God would never have given man a king; but man insisted upon it.

And "democracy" is yet another king; perhaps the most vile tyrant of all.

In a world where no one remembers ever having asked for their station, no one has any apparent responsibility.

In a world where the results of choice are not known in advance, such can at best be called "chance."

The belief in cause and effect and reincarnation could be thought of as one of predestination rather than free will.

The life of a hedonist is not an easy one.
