Hynix Chairman Says Sales Talks to Bear Results in Next Few Weeks January 31, 2002 (SEOUL) -- Hynix Semiconductor Inc. Chairman Park Jong-sup said Jan. 29 that Hynix's sales negotiations with Micron Technologies Inc. would likely be concluded within the next two weeks. Returning from a failed third round of sales negotiations held last week in the United States, Park is reported to have said that although negotiations have not collapsed, time is running out. Industry watchers believe that negotiations may not materialize due to the large difference in sales prices proposed by Hynix creditors and Micron. However, Park will likely make a strong effort to finalize the deal, which Hynix desperately needs to maintain a financial basis for further investments. Parks noted that he is looking into finding a sales proposal that will prove to be a win-win situation for both companies. (from DRAM Exchange)
