Many thanks for your article on Knight Ridder and Japan. Quite interesting.

Between times I wonder if you have an opinion on the JP Morgan-Chase interest rate derivitive exposure issue? In view of the bank's various exposures to things that have come undone lately...Enron, Global Crossing, K-Mart, Argentina etc. - I wonder if something will spike causing the JpMorgan-Chase "derivative exposure" to become troublesome.

The gearing here seems to be 662 to 1 in these interest rate derivatives and their JPM-Chase "other" bank derivative exposures.

For 3/4th's of an article - I am not sure about the gold exposure and the writer's axe he grinds here - the unitiated might look at this url:
