Well said, re Libertarianism The other way out from an information science POV is to clearly make information available in a set of standards that are comparable and understandable. This is what the SEC-type oversight attempts to do. The result isn't libertarian/repub/democratic, but allows examination of unlimited complexity, driven by those who decide to can, at any time, drill down into details, or confirm top-level summaries. This maintains the real threat of oversight by constituents. This wasn't possible in the past two centuries, but now is.
