Check the price on new machines. You'd be amazed what $700 buys these days.

I know, I've browsed the new Dell pooters. It's barely worth it trying to upgrade an older machine. Similar situation with Roxio. They want about $155 (canadian) for their Easy CD Creator 5. I bought a new CD-RW drive for another machine a few weeks ago; came with Nero CD burner, all for $200.
