Randy, you're absolutely right! Earnings are important only as one indicator of future company performance (and obviously its impact on the financial health of the company). It's easy to fall into the trap of trading myopia when you haunt SI, and it leads to a herd mentality. The really important thing for me (as well as other long-term investors) to consider is the three to five year outlook. Thanks for a reality check!
