Your information on the NRA and your definition of "weapons of mass destruction" are both erroneous, either purposefully or ignorantly.

Greg, if you own a gun or believe strongly that most people should carry a gun, I imagine the NRA looks like a cross between the proverbial chamber of commerce in support of guns and led by the former Moses, and a trade lobbyist from Taiwan looking to increase exports. However, if you are opposed to the proliferation of guns in this culture and are weary of all the gun related deaths and injuries accidental or intentional, then the NRA looks much like I have described it. I guess its a matter of perspective.

And for the record, I am pretty good at firing a rifle.....went with friends in hi school to target practice on a pretty regular basis for a while. I can understand how someone can be into hunting although I wouldn't hunt game unless I were hungry and no other source of food was available. But when the number of guns in a culture exceeds by a good number the population of that culture and 30,000 people die every year from guns, then we do not need an organization like the NRA fighting for the right to carry guns......but rather some serious psychoanalysis to figure out why we continue to allow such a mess to exist......short of that, an organization that resists everything for which the NRA stands.

And telling me that doctors kill more people doesn't make me feel any less strong about the issue. Sorry.
