I'm not trying to take over here or confuse the issue but here's my thoughts:

Sounds like a ramdrive and or virtual drive setting to me:

I think your running Win98. I don't have a Win98/Win95 box anymore so I'll go from memory:

Click as follows:

start
run
key in "msconfig" (not quotes)

This will bring up a window.

There should be a tab "autoexec" another "Config.sys"

Copy and paste the contents of these two files/window
into your next SI post.
