A similar approach is being taken with respect to speeding and other risky behavior behind the wheel. I've seen such publicity spots on TV in France, they should be enough to make one think twice.

But with repetition, maybe the shock would quickly wear off, I don't know. They used advertising time to address the problem of risky sexual practice, and above all to use a condom, in connection with AIDS. This seemed to have a beneficial effect, but that problem is on the rise again.

Ultimately I don't know how pass the message about harmful things like drug usage which usually start from mindless conformism due to peer pressure, during adolescence when conformism is a stronger urge than at any other age in life.

The enormous profits resulting from illegality don't help matters, that's evident. And when one supposedly has attained the "age of reason", well...
