Hi stephen
I haven't read the Gilder newsletter, but read Telecosm, and he's got a unique and valuable view of future technology.

His financial recommendations are another matter. It sounded in the back of his book like he mostly bought to hold for long-term, rather than near-term appreciation, and didn't seem to consider the entry price, which made me cautious.

I invested in a couple of his recommendations, short-term, because in spite of the exiting potential, the cash wasn't so visible. I also invested in GX at near $1, on pure speculation that there might be some positive flow in the future, and maybe a huge success.

I switched those to bonds, and it's still speculative, obviously.

I'm not sure about this list, but I'll look at them.

From what little I know, I don't think he's a dummy or a thief, but a visionary whose recommendations are for the technological direction of the company, not financial risk as it relates to management effectiveness or bubble finance. He believes these are good, and invests himself, but that is a different issue, since he's not a finance guy. I've been in business with lots of companies with terrific, world-class technology, that screwed up by bad management.
