i'm a proponent of the death penalty.

i completely agree that 25 years on death row is bizarre and needs to be shortened.

but we are hearing of so many cases that are being cleared now with DNA evidence.

so it just hit me...

if a criminal is sentenced to death and his or her conviction was based on DNA evidence, then there's nothing to wait around for, 'cept maybe the inevitable appeals. there should be like a two year, maybe three on the high end, cap placed on the time period for appeals.

then it's lights out.

does that sound like a bad idea?
