an interesting caveat on the insurance issue. as a result of the massive liabilities incurred from the world trade center, medical malpractice has gone through the roof. increases of 35-50% are the norm year over year, with some obstetricians being forced to pay double their last years premiums. in addition, the tails required for a physician to leave medicine(that's the money needed to pay the insurance company to cover you in the event you are sued after you leave medicine) have quadrupled in some instances.

within 10 years there will be a massive physician shortage imo. the pay sucks, the hours are long, you're forced to cut corners in order to appease the insurance companies and expectations are sky high.

i'm sure y'all have noticed your health care premiums lately.

drug companies...they suck, short 'em.
hmo's...short 'em

start looking for a doctor who speaks good english and pray he/she sticks around.
