Analysts from Natwest that covered the Thermo companies jumped to Salomon a couple months ago. My guess is that Marie Conway, the lead analyst, put a hold on TCA because of the delay in FDA approval of the electric heartmate. The approval is now expected sometime before the end of 1997. As the approval nears, she'll probably change her rating to a buy. Her predictions on the stock price of TCA and other Thermo companies are way off the current levels.
