Good question. The split with Alliance had very little to do with finances, contracts etc... From what I have heard, the two management's did not get along and viewed the expansion possibilities of Mainframe differently. I really don't know Alliance at all, but I have heard that some of the top ex3ecutives are "headstrong" to say the least. Also, Alliance needs the money in order to expand their distribution and their own movie production side. They are getting involved more in taking the risk and financing their own movies, which takes bigger mulah. I was told it was a "..give us back our company or we bolt and create a new one..." type situation.

I believe the relationship is still very solid from a business perspective --Alliance is a very good distributor in Canada and internationally. They will always be JV partners on ReBoot & BeastWars and get some "first look" rights. Alliance still works with them in securing projects etc...

So, Alliance didn't "leave easily" --they were more or less forced to exit.

Also, I think the stock's major move will be on the back of new projects. It appears well underpinned with the known contracts over the next 12-18 months. Anything new is complete upside, be it a few more TV shows, more IMAX RideFilms, or getting a final go ahead on a movie, be it the Storyopolis/WB one or some other one.

By the way --yesterday's Washington Post had an article about the growing popularity of animation in prime time. It was mostly about MTV (Daria, B&Buthead), HBO (Slash or Slade or something like that) and Fox's King of Hill. But said there is more demand for sophisticated shows to go along with kiddy animation. Hopefully the relaunched ReBoot 3 will fit into that role. We'll have to read the UK reviews in July/August.
