QCharts can graph algebraic expressions on symbols, such as "spx.x - vix.x" or "spx.x - ( vix.x * 5 )". Internally, QCharts and its DLL have the core of a more powerful parser, in which study operators such as MA, MACD, and RSI can be part of expressions, as well as math and logical operators.
There is a category of wish-list items that are widely perceived as "hard," but that would not be hard given certain changes in the parser. Examples include expressions in quote sheets, alerts on expressions, user-defined expressions, and continuous contracts / merged symbols. I messaged this list seeking input about the latter a few days back, and we are working on it now.
The next QCharts, planned for public testing in mid-February, will graph multiple symbols (actually, simple expressions on symbols) in a single chart, over the chart's base symbol. And although the following may not make it into the February release, we plan to make it easy to load a sector list, an option chain, a portfolio, or a hotlist directly into a chart as a group of overlays.
We hope that you, who have found QCharts so appealing because of its intuitive charting, will keep an eye on the website, as features are added that give the product new utility as a trading tool.
Also, we hope you will enter into dialog with us, become part of an informal pre-release testing activity, and suggest feature additions.
In parallel with these changes, a group of people is working independently on the server side to maintain and improve the service availability you expect. |
