IGOT, I totally agree that respect can only be earned, and is worth nothing if it is granted as a gift from political correctness. IMO, all religions that foster peace on Earth should be respected, but a problem is, that all religions seem to have splinter, and fringe, groups that do not believe in peace, and that their fanatical goals can only be achieved by violence. If the religions of the world can purge themselves of such groups, then I think they can be an important factor in a nation seeking peace, instead of war. Sometimes, I think that those that make every attempt to ridicule any religion, fear the thought of any deity that is more than they are. I guess the word for that is humanism, that considers humans to be the greatest entities in the universe. In some instances, some humans are not even the greatest things on this planet.
