So if one doesn't understand (i.e., agree with what is said) then by definition one isn't wise so there's no point in further discussion. Hence all the evasion and subject-changing.

Thank you for the explanation. This seems to be a form of Calvinism in which only the "elect" are "saved". If only the wise understand then why say anything at all?
