Ilmarinen,

Hey, I wanted to clarify some things first. In some ways, my comments regarding "Vertu" were shooting from the hip. I thought "Vertu" would be a product line within Nokia, instead its a brand name that Nokia will be developing similiar to Toyota to Lexus, Nissan to Infiniti, Black & Decker to DeWalt (in some ways).

Of course, some users want a mobile phone for "style". Most of the market, however, prefer mobile phones for functionality. Of course, if the "Vertu" brand can manufacture a cell phone that offers outstanding styling and outstanding functionality, then I'm all for it. These will help raise the ASPs of the *normal* Nokia phone.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that UMTS and 1xRTT is the future. If Nokia is confident that they have those technologies working fine; I'm all for Vertu. If, on the other hand, if Nokia is going to continue to "drop the ball" with respect to CDMA and is attempting to increase ASPs with Vertu, or if Vertu is taking away from R&D on these future technologies, then Vertu (IMO) is a waste.
