Thanks for the posted articles.

REITs have been touted as a great place to invest during the tumultuous stock crisis. Since there is such a lag in real estate it seems that the lag is/getting here. The commercial and retail REITs are at risk unless we get a good turn in the economy.

I guess the best REIT are apartments. Those that have bought houses have mostly done so with interest rates so low and the pressure to buy before prices rise more (hah!). If those who are over-leveraged lose their jobs and houses, they too will need places to rent.
