That's exactly why I want a home too. But when the median family income of my area is $60k a year and the median house price is over $300k, something is amiss. One person loses a job in that household and it's repo time; it's happening right now. Buying Real Estate at anytime is great when life is perfect, but since life isn't perfect, I prefer to time my investments.
