So do you imagine that this "contraction" is somehow the result of an "error" which requires "correction"? Is it not possible that the soul knows what it is doing and has made a fully "informed choice" in this matter to serve its purpose? In the moment between exhalation and inhalation we are "not breathing". Should this be a cause of concern? Can we experience one without the other? Is it "good" to inhale but somehow "not good" to exhale? The "breathing" of the soul and of God is no different.
