Hi anyone and everyone,

I went to town today to buy a new computer. Had my eye on a "Best Buy" ad.. featuring a HP with Pentium 4, 1.6ghz, 512 DDR (Double data rate) SDRAM, 80 gig hard drive.. with Dvd, cd RW drive, etc...
I wanted the DDR SDRAM instead of the standard SDRAM, because I heard it was much more efficient..

So when I got there, a bright young salesman, steered me away from the P-4 chip because he said it didn't work well with the DDR sdram..Get no added benefit.. BUT he said the AMD Athlon XP 1800 1.53 gig chip was BETTER because you got MUCH better performance overall with DDR SDRAM.. and WOULD be equal to about 2.5 gigs of Pentium power.. So the way to go was to:

Have Best Buy build a HP custom box for about 200.00 more(1170.). Besides, the extra cost, it would take 6-12 days.. I've been struggling with my old box for awhile, And I WANT IT NOW.. Please someone, tell me, the P-4 is just as good with DDR SDRAM as the AMD Athlon..

Thanks in Advance,

Confused coug
