Sam, I should have elaborated... I have Schwab's Velocity software, but I've been experiencing problems using it due to server connection errors. The application periodically stalls for brief periods. These random occurrences are frequent and frustrating. As a result, I've been trading through Schwab's dependable web site which unfortunately requires one to repeatedly click the refresh button for real-time info. I've traded this old fashioned way forever, so it's not a major issue for me. However, after procrastinating working on the fix for long enough, I finally completed re-installing and re-configuring the program this weekend. I'm still not certain what caused the bug, but everything now appears to be functioning correctly. I won't be convinced I've resolved the problem until I've traded with the clean software under live conditions tomorrow. In any case, Velocity is a simple to use no frills tool with real-time streaming quotes, real-time news, and real-time intraday charts. The charts come from BigCharts.com and have all the standard custom settings. It also has features for creating and saving orders in advance, submitting multiple orders, and displaying streaming real-time quotes on the order entry screen in addition to the watch lists.
