I'm just pointing out that $3.4 million for one drug user is way, way, way too expensive for us to even consider spending.

Of come off it... it's pretty obvious that I was speaking rhetorically... So I'm not the only one "missing points" here.

For all practical purposes, we never know if ANY kind of public service commercials have any positive effect, no matter what the topic. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't air them, and still put out certain socially beneficial messages.

The whole point is that tying drugs to international terrorism is an innovative, and factual, approach that relies upon a individuals patriotism towards changing mindsets about getting involved in drugs. It's propaganda, I realize this. But it's factual propaganda, and positive in its message.

But I personally believe that it could be quite effective in ways that other Demand Reduction public service announcements may have not.

And it's expensive because it's being aired on some of the most expensive airtime out there, the superbowl, where it reaches the widest audience.

Odds are that we'll see a few people think twice about drugs. And every trip begins with a single step.
