Remember when so many of the republicans kept saying that it didn't matter that Bush wasn't very smart and didn't have the experience needed to be president? They said this didn't matter because he was such a good judge of others that he was able to surround himself with people who could do the job. Well now he's been in office for a year and we see that the one main person (Lay) that he had attached his star to turns out to be a very undesirable and probably dishonest person to say the least. So much for Bush being able to pick good people to be associated with. I have much the same feeling about Cheney, Ashcroft and Pitt. All three are 95% for business and 5% for the people. I do respect Powell and think he is a capable and honest person. Rumsfeld comes across as being an honest person but I keep having bad feelings about him. I get the impression that Rice is not in the click. Hughes should never have been allowed close to the whitehouse.

I wonder who will be the first of his major appointees to resign. I said after the so-called election that Powell would be the first to resign and it would be because he couldn't honestly go along with somthing that Bush would do. I still don't think Powell will stick it out to the end but there may be others who resign before him. Pitt and Cheney should be the first two.
