Yesterday I had my first indepth conversation with allan london the hardware sales manager.(yes rb he left a 25mil/yr modem maker to rejoin frank again because the potential is much greater.)Let me say allan is very impressive in his grasp of the market place and the customers he is dealing with.Here is the plan. About two dozen small to medium isp's are currently beta testing the cyclone.The results of that beta test and the comments from industry giants(mci,att,rayteon,hughes,motorola)yes they are involved but not beta and i'll tell you why later-- will lead to a cyclone with the best combination of cost versus features.This process should take a couple of weeks to shake out.This is a well thought out plan and if you notice the advertizing it is purposely vag ue about details so not to turn of customers because it doesnt mention specific features. Actually the customer base is defining cyclone as i write this.This is being beta tested not to prove it works but to come up with a field tried product that the customer is defining and wants.Alan did not beta with big customers only solicited their input because he did not want to risk turning them off(pretty smart strategy.)OK WERE DO WE GO FROM HERE. July -cyclone launched -full reporting status (s1) completed -Bizarro d mark channel bank developed -Stock price 3-8 August-Son of cyclone (tornado) september-grandson of cyclone oct-dec fnet launched stock price north of 20 and a wonderful christmas. About bizaro ,was told a great opportunity has emerged for and old product with a new twist and it could happen very quickly. For competitive reasons they would not elaborate on it but they are very quick to act on new ideas.Well i will be out of pocket for the next 3 weeks but I am more confident about the hardware side of the business than I have ever been. Cyclone works I understand their market position and why they will be successful.After they hit some big contracts and we are on our way I will come on and explain in more detail why it worked.(its not rocket science but good old california business sense and response to market, the old product realization process). By the way,my price evasluations are based on a run rate of 25-50mill.in the dec-may time frame.If any of these products is accepted that is a very very doable number. Remember this does not include ip,web.private label,fnet thats rbs bag. Have a wonderful july everyone I know I will.
