Countries with Attitude problems in Africa.

South Africa: 20,000 murders/year in a population the size of New York State. Bantu-Zulu conflict.

Algeria: Muslim extremist wars, 15,000 dead per year.

Nigeria: Tribal wars, resource homeland wars, crime, Muslim, Christian conflict.

Uganda: Tribal wars. Hausa vs anybody.

Congo: Steady wars between out of states tribes and others. Non stop violence.

Liberia: Massacres since 1970's. Before that corruption was worst in Africa, but peaceful.

Sierra Leone/Ivory Coast: Tribal wars.

Tanzania: Rwanda spillover, otherwise easy going internally. If you are not Arabic or Indian.

Angola: Civil War.

Namibia: See Angola.

Rhodesia/Zimbabwe: Farmer wars, indigent former army looters, collapsing economy.

Ethiopia/Eritrea: War. very bloody.

Somalia, Aden: Al Quaeda/Warlord troubles,

Libya/Tunisia: Muslim problems. Stalled economies.

Most of the African problems stem from tribale conflict such as Bantu-Zulu, Hutu-Tutsi that go back 400 years. There were massacres in Rwanda in the 1700's. The conflicts we see today were going on in the 16th 17th 18th and 19th centuries. In part it stems from the coastal-Muslim/rainforest blacks conflict and also from other distinctions. The blacks there say the tribe that rules Africa, is the Benzes tribe. They went to Oxford and drive Mercedez Benzes.

Only state I would set foot into today with little trepidation is Ghana. So far in 25 years no war. Tanzania and Kenya are OK. Tanzania is weak economically and some instabilities, but you can live without always looking over your shoulder. South Africa is dicey. Ok in some ways,, but its mining interests are now subject to tribal land claims. You cannot have Bantu and Zulu work crews in the same venue. War will result. Murder is constant.
