Is this the reason: Pharmacia & Upjohn Inc. (PNU) shares rose as much as 1 3/16 to 37 3/16 after the drugmaker said it will shutter three drug- development sites and consolidate its global drug business under one executive, while warning that its second-quarter profit will be lower than the first quarter's, when it earned 37 cents a share. The company was expected to earn 43 cents, according to the average estimate of 17 analysts surveyed by IBES International Inc.
