Eric, Yes, we should arm the police as well as security guards as long as they are vetted. Now police get lots of training and I feel safer with them having guns that security guards...unless there is good testing and training to make sure they are resposible gun bearers.
Secirty guards on money trucks are allowed to have guns. They have $1 million or more in the truck. Now a warehouseman watching $1 milluion in goods could be allowed a gun if he passed the proper tests(mental stability, handling, etc)

I see those inner city police guns as a step forward.
I am in favour of more police gun ownership and less citizen gun ownserhip.
But you will get a few cops who kill their wives....a permissible level.
