I'm thinking along the lines right now that the market leaders in tech are going to come out with more bearish comments. Part of it will be to address that "confidence" factor. They will seem more honest if they don't seem to be pumping their stock. The other thing that may be a factor to more bearish views from the market leaders is competition. Companies like MSFT, CSCO, AMAT, INTC can weather the storm better than their smaller competitors who often must look to the equity market for funds.

There have been a lot of dotcoms that went bust and certainly a lot of the CLECs/DLECs went under and now we are seeing some of the bigger players like GX and WCOM have trouble.....how long before some of the smaller vendors can no longer take the pain? I think that many may be on the edge of the cliff and that the market leaders may give them a push by making bearish statements.
