In bed with Bush and Co. That is laughable. I have had business dealings with plenty of people I am not in bed with. Osama bin Laden is Saudi. Big news!? And where did you get the $43 m from? In constant dollars, oil is at a historic low in price. The cartel has been one of the biggest failures in history. Where are the court cases establishing the long term pattern of bribery? The Royal Family is, indeed, untrustworthy. On the other hand, we have substantial basing rights in that country, so we have reason to be diplomatic. Saudi Arabia is not the only place where there are fundamentalist sectarians, nor is it the most dangerous. The Saudi regime is comparatively moderate. There is no "absolute dedication" to the Saudi regime. As long as they are useful, they will get our support. When the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, they will not. No, it is not.
