Thanks for your thoughts and the "mule" example. A model of derivative clarity.<g>

Just read an article in Time (printed version, sorry, no URL). Clarified things a little, actually it seems these guys had a nose for making bad investments, its just they didn't feel a great need to mention them to anyone. I found a list of "partners" in one of their partnerships, here it is: Message 16984099.

Meanwhile, here is an interview with a Seagate VP on disk drives (remember those?): nikkeibp.asiabiztech.com . I don't think that they will start a drive war anytime soon. They need to show profits to get a good price when they go public. Then they will need to show a decent profit for a few quarters until their "investors" can sell the rest of their shares to the public--I doubt they will sell everything in the first offering, too suspicious. Then again, they do specialize in audacity, so who knows, they are the Kings of the Universe.
