Tench, probably longer than most people think. If you are insinuating that there won't be any Msft support for x86-64 soon then you are missing the point. Hammer will work fine on the current windows. x86-64 just future-proofs the purchaser. A lot of people need to feel that their purchase won't be obsolete shortly after it's made. Take MMX as an example. No software supported it for quite a long time. When faced with a regular pentium vs one with MMX the consumer chose the MMX because they thought the software for it will come eventually. x86-64 will be just a marketing bonus in the begining.
