Sonera and its lofty 2,000 GPRS users burning it up at 20kbps...LOL. Oh, well. Whatever. The Bay Area guy was using his phone as a modem on a network that had just implemented 1x. That state of affairs can hardly be said to be permanent. Wait 'til DO arrives and/or the US 1x carriers crank it up to 300+ kbps. Let's compare notes then. I suppose we'll then have to compare 1x @ 300+ kbps and DO @ 2.4 mbps with .......EDGE? By the way, did you see the mLife AWS series of ads shown at the Super Bowl last night? Those people are not only technologically unsound, they are marketing morons. What a waste of money. Until the veil was lifted, the group I was with thought the ads were for Metropolitan Life. But the Caddy ads were cool. Led Zeppelin and Caddy--what a concept. My grandfather rolled in his grave.
