Manufacturers will always go wherever their costs are lowest. Globalization has increased the trend. We sell and manufacture in the US the highly complex, high valued-added products that only highly paid, highly proficient workers can produce. The rest goes overseas.

I don't think that currency values will have a huge impact on the trend, though I presume that they will cyclically affect demand, as one currency rises and falls in relation to another.

But I'll admit I don't know a lot about this interesting subject.
