That describes a tendency occuring when the administration in power can exert its authority, hide influence, and not be successfully challenged by others, in spite of citizens wanting disclosure
I.e., "dictating" policy based on secret meetings without "putting up with the guff", as you say, of pesky citizens, and certainly not Congress or the courts - we'll see if the GAO has any luck, but it looks headed for legal oblivion.
Perhaps that's 'term inflation', as you say, but the tendencies are the critical issue, as I think we're frogs being slowly boiled to adjust to taxation and foreign and privacy policies being issued, without concurrence of the governed, to the detriment of our well-being, financially, legally, and physically. |
