That's great!! Tuesday July 1 9:28 AM EDT Western Pacific Airlines to Acquire Frontier Airlines MMC WESTERN PACIFIC AIRLINES INC. In Definitive Pact to Acquire Frontier Airlines Inc.-- Ticker: WPAC (news) Highlight: M&A Date: 970701 June 30, 1997, Western Pacific Airlines Inc. (WPAC) and Frontier Airlines Inc. (FRNT) said their boards approved a definitive agreement for WPAC to acquire FRNT through a stock swap. Under the agreement, WPAC would exchange 0.75 of a common share for each FRNT share, subject to adjustment under certain circumstances. FRNT shareholders would own about 31% of the combined company, for which the airlines are considering a new name. Also, after the acquisition three FRNT directors would join WPAC's board, expanding it to nine members. The airlines said they also plan to begin an interim code sharing arrangement on August 1 under which their combined schedule will be displayed under both their codes.
